WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR FIRST VISIT
We want our patients to walk away from their first visit with a better understanding of how their pelvic floor and core work and what they can do to help it immediately.
We take the time to get to know our patients by:
Go over logistics
Thoroughly review current symptoms and pertinent history
Creating clear goals for recovery and progress
We perform a musculoskeletal assessment, including:
Comprehensive postural and muscular examination
Real-Time Ultrasound (RUSI) unit, which allows the patient to have a real-time look at their inner core muscles in action. This is placed on the abdomen and gives us a look at the bladder and deepest abdominal and pelvic floor muscles.
Formal pelvic floor muscle assessment (External or internal; only if indicated). This will be fully discussed and described by your practitioner prior to the assessment being performed.
We create a plan:
Individualized plan of action
A home exercise program that will match your therapy goals
Pain relieving techniques and modalities
